We've been using your CISS systems for years and this is a genuine review but of course I've taken the trouble to write it mainly to get a discount.
This is the second CISS system we’ve bought from City Ink Express. That might sound odd but the first one we bought was so good that the Epson printer it fitted simply wore out and as they’d stopped making that model we were forced to replace the printer even though the CISS system was still perfect after years of use. That first system saved us thousands and thousands of pounds in ink cartridge costs and hundreds of hours faffing about replacing them.
Kind regards
Rory
bought this ciss system last week for the epson xp 970 and we love how it works and was easy to install following the video instructions.we will only be buying ink from cityinkexpress in the future.well done thank you

If your printer was not purchased in the uk / Europe then it will use different cartridges for the ciss - for it to work in your country you will need chipless firmware - read on
What is chippless firmware?
Chippless firmware is a modified version of the software installed inside your printer that has been modified so it no longer monitors the chips or ink levels, this is uploaded to your printer and overwrites the current version of the software.
The benefits of chippless software are it gives the user the ability to put cartridges in the printer with no chips or the wrong chips , an example of use would be if you have intermittent issues with chips doing this would solve that as it no longer checks for chips.
An alternative scenario would be where you get the same printer in different countries but the chip / cartridges are different so you cannot buy a product from one country and put it in the same printer in a different country because the cartridges and chips are different andwould not be recognised.
Making the printer chippless would as an example allow the user to buy a ciss or refillable cartridges for the XP-4100 in the UK and install them in the US version of the same printer.
Using a chippless firmware will void your warranty
Its as easy as this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxljgwByvBk
Once uploaded you should not update your firmware from Epson, or it will overwrite the modified version and go back to how it was before with normal unmodified firmware, ink levels will no longer be monitored so manual checking will be required of the product you are using.
If done in error, it can be recovered if you have saved your recovery code the software offers at time of modification.
Chipless firmware is offered here https://inkchip.net/
We are often asked by why we do not offer detailed technical support by phone - so here are our reasons.
We cannot see what you can
Many of our products require detailed technical support which often requires images and screen shots of the product setup, settings, images - without these we cannot see and understand the whole picture and offer an effective prompt solution
Sometimes with the settings you have - you might think they are right but may not be - we need to see images to find this out - it only takes 1 wrong thing to stop the product working building up a complete picture of support helps us.
We do not record conversations and each time you ring you may get a different staff member who has no idea who you are or any previous history this may result in wrong advice being given.
Building up a complete picture of support over time helps understand and troubleshoot to give the best advice as we can see what has been done and tried before.
Building up a complete picture of support by email means any member of staff can read all the history and support you.
Building up a complete picture of support helps us improve the quality of the products and level of service we provide.
We have now released the ciss continuous ink system for Epson XP-8500,XP-8505,XP-8000,XP-8600,XP-8605 Printer and the video can be found here
It is available with normal dye ink, Epson T6731-6 Genuine eco tank inks and empty ciss continuous ink system
After extensive and in depth testing on this model which included over 25,000 prints, over 4 litres of ink we are happy to release what we believe in our opinion to be a comparable model to the Sawgrass SG400 printer but with just a fraction of the ongoing running cost
Supplied as a pre modified and already initialised printer where you just have to fill the carts - pop in and change a few settings, the printer is chip less which means you don't have to worry about resetting of chips or failed chips, if you wanted to print 1000 documents with no interruption the printer is capable if it has enough ink
Huge savings on your running costs when compared to an SG400 which is typically around £1.20per ml of ink and the cityinkexpress brand around 18 pence
Kit Contents include
4* 300ml capacity cartridges
200ml of each colour ink 800ml in total capable of around 4000 mugs
100 sheets a4 paper
1 roll heat proof tape
C5210dw printer modified chip less for sublimation
Our setup video can be seen here
We have now released the ciss continuous ink system for Epson WF-2860,WF-2865 Printer and the video can be found here
It is available with sublimation dye ink, normal dye ink, Epson T6641-4 Genuine eco tank inks and empty ciss continuous ink system
We have now released the ciss continuous ink system for Epson XP-5100,XP-5105, the video install guide can be seen here

Many smaller Canon desktop printers that's use tri colour carts / 2 cartridges per printer don't have the room inside for free movement of the inkline tubes on a ciss making it impossible to fit one without cutting sections of the printer away which is not something you want to do for obvious reasons.
Typically tricolour cartridges are expensive to buy and don't contain a huge amount of ink , you can normally buy standard capacity and high capacity cartridges
What is a refillable pod cartridge ?
This is plastic insert filled with ink that inserts into your cartridge
how to modify a cartridge to make it suitable
Please see our video Here
How many times / pods can i insert before the print head fails and i need a new cartridge ?
During testing we found on an unused genuine cartridge we were averaging 8 pods before the print head failed and we needed a new cartridge - that's this many inserts on one set of genuines.
Potentially nearly 7000 prints based @ 5% coverage , if you are using a used / remanufactured / used / compatible cartridge this will be reduced based on the condition of the print head - either way its a great money saver and based on the table of costs above one of the cheapest ways to print on your printer.
We sell this package with various options including just the refill pods on there own for refills or if you are using your own cartridges or you can buy the complete kit with 2 unused genuine cartridge all options are shown below
Just the pods

** average cost taken from cartridgesave, stinkyink, cartridge people 22-07-2019
We are please to announce the release of refillable ink cartridges for the
following printers WF-4740DTWF,WF-4720DWF,WF-4725DWF,WF-4730DTWF,WF-4740DWF,WF-4730DWF now ciss arc chips ( auto
reset ) have become available a ciss continuous ink system will soon follow 3
months +.
The chip prices are being kept high at the moment so the chip manufacturer can claw back some of the development costs and we would expect the price to lower in around 6 - 12 months
The cartridges can be purchased here https://www.cityinkexpress.co.uk/cheap-printer-cartridges/cheap-printer-cartridges-for-epson-printers
